Plant DNA Mini Kit
The Plant DNA Mini Kit offers a quick and efficient method for purifying high-quality genomic DNA from a broad range of plant tissues and cells. The protocol begins with sample homogenization in a denaturing lysis buffer, followed by debris removal, selective binding of DNA to a silica-membrane spin column, one or two effective wash steps to eliminate proteins, polysaccharides, polyphenols and other inhibitors, and final elution in low-salt buffer or sterile water. Typical input is ~10–100 mg fresh/frozen tissue or ~1 x 107 cells, with yields depending on species and tissue type. Purified DNA frequently reaches tens of micrograms in yield, suitable for downstream applications including PCR, qPCR, restriction digestion, Southern blotting and sequencing. Sample-to-sample consistency is maintained via the optimized buffer chemistry and ready-to-use spin columns. Kit contents include lysis buffer, binding columns, two wash buffers, elution buffer, and a detailed user protocol.
