Yeast gDNA Kit
The Yeast gDNA Kit is designed for rapid and reliable isolation of high-quality total genomic DNA from a wide variety of yeast species (including Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Schizosaccharomyces pombe and other fungi) . Starting from up to ~3 mL of log-phase culture (or equivalent pellet) or a small colony/mass of cells, the workflow combines enzymatic or mechanical cell-wall disruption, followed by lysis, binding of DNA to a silica-membrane spin column, wash steps to remove proteins, RNA and inhibitors, and final elution of intact genomic DNA. Typical yields range from ~10-30 μg per prep with A260/A280 ≈ 1.7-1.9, suitable for PCR, restriction digests, Southern blotting, or sequencing. The kit includes lyticase (or equivalent disruption reagent), glass beads or bead-tube, binding columns, collection tubes, lysis/neutralization buffers, wash buffers, elution buffer and a detailed user manual. No phenol/chloroform extraction required, making it ideal for molecular biology, fungal genetics, and genomics workflows.
