Soil gDNA Kit

The Soil gDNA Kit is engineered for efficient extraction of high-quality genomic DNA from diverse soil and sediment samples—such as forest soil, farmland topsoil, sludge, bog sediment or dust. Sample sizes up to approximately 250–500 mg (depending on soil type) are homogenized using bead-based mechanical disruption, followed by lysis, inhibitor removal (e.g., humic acids, metal ions, polysaccharides) and binding of DNA to a silica-membrane or bead matrix. Rigorous wash steps remove PCR inhibitors and contaminants, yielding DNA with A260/A280 of about 1.7–1.9 and ready for PCR, qPCR, restriction digestion or sequencing. The kit includes bead-tubes, lysis buffers, inhibitor-removal reagents, binding columns/plates, wash buffers, elution buffer and detailed protocol. No phenol/chloroform extraction required—ideal for environmental genomics, microbial ecology and soil-metagenomics laboratories.
