Bacterial DNA Kit
The Bacterial DNA Kit enables rapid and efficient isolation of high-quality genomic DNA from both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. The workflow begins with optimized cell lysis (chemical, enzymatic and/or mechanical) to break down the bacterial cell wall, followed by binding of DNA to a silica-membrane spin-column or magnetic-bead matrix, thorough wash steps to remove proteins, RNA, salts and cell debris, and elution of pure DNA in low-salt buffer or water. Typical input is up to ~109 bacterial cells (or ~0.5-1 mL overnight culture), with yields varying by species and cell density. Purified DNA is ready for downstream applications such as PCR, qPCR, restriction enzyme digestion, sequencing and cloning. The kit includes lysis buffer, optional lysozyme/pre-treatment reagent, binding columns or magnetic beads, wash buffers, elution buffer, and a detailed user protocol. No phenol/chloroform extraction or alcohol precipitation is required—ideal for molecular biology, microbiology and genomics labs working with bacterial cultures.
