Fungal RNA Kit

The Fungal RNA Kit is designed for efficient and high-quality extraction of total RNA from filamentous fungi, yeast and other tough-to-lyse fungal specimens. Using a robust lysis system combined with bead- or filter-based homogenization and a silica membrane spin-column format, the kit effectively removes polysaccharides, phenolic compounds and other fungal inhibitors. Typical sample inputs range from ~10 mg up to ~200 mg of fungal tissue (or equivalent cell pellet) and yields can reach tens of micrograms of high-integrity RNA with A260/A280 ≈ 1.8-2.0. The workflow (lysis → binding → wash → elution) is fast (generally under 30 minutes) and does not require phenol/chloroform extraction. Purified RNA is suitable for demanding downstream applications such as RT-PCR, qRT-PCR, microarray analysis, RNA-seq library prep and northern blotting. The kit includes all necessary components: disruption beads or lytic-buffer, lysis buffer, binding columns, wash buffers, Elution Buffer (RNase-free), optional DNase I treatment (where genomic DNA removal is required), and a detailed protocol. Ideal for molecular biology, mycology, biotech and genomics labs working with fungal samples.
