Plant RNA Midi Kit

The Plant RNA Midi Kit is designed for efficient isolation of high-quality total RNA from moderate amounts of plant material (typically ~50-300 mg fresh tissue) or up to ~107 cultured plant or fungal cells. The kit employs a strong-denaturing lysis buffer to immediately inactivate RNases, followed by filtration/homogenization and binding of RNA to a mid-capacity silica-membrane column (with a binding capacity up to ~1 mg RNA) in a streamlined format. Polysaccharides, polyphenols and other inhibitors common in plant samples are effectively removed. Purified RNA is ready for demanding downstream applications such as RT-PCR, qRT-PCR, RNA-seq library preparation and microarray analysis. The kit includes mid-spin columns, collection tubes, lysis buffer, wash buffers, RNase-free Elution Buffer and a detailed protocol. No phenol/chloroform extraction or ethanol precipitation is required. Ideal for molecular biology, genomics and plant-science labs requiring reproducible RNA from diverse plant tissues.
