Notes
Various systems for the nomenclature of the proteasome subunits have been established. This may be a source of confusion as the system on UniProt differs from “standard” nomenclature as described in the literature. The UniProt ID and Gene Name will help to clearly identify the proteins.
Specificity
Recognizes the β2 subunit of the 20S proteasome.
Formulation
Liquid. In PBS, pH 7.2, containing 50% glycerol and 0.09% sodium azide.
Applications Notes
Immunoprecipitation: Does not immunoprecipitate intact proteasomes from HeLa cell preparations. Immunohistochemistry: Has been shown to have applicability in immunohistochemical applications using human tissue. Western blot: Single dimension SDS-PAGE of a HeLa cell lysate followed by Western blotting gives a single band with a relative molecular weight of ~28kDa.
