≥1x10 7 U/mg protein. Determined by proliferation assay using human TF-1 (T. Kitamura, et al.; Int. Immunol. 3 , 571 (1991) ) . The ED 50 for this effect is typically 0.2-2ng/ml. Results were compared with the international IL-1 reference standard preparation (WHO 86/680, NIBSC) .

Reconstitute with water, PBS or aqueous buffer to a concentration of 100μg/ml. For further dilution carrier protein (~1%) should be added to avoid loss of bioactivity.
