Epithelial Membrane Antigen (MUC1) Rabbit mAb IHC Kit

MUC1 is a type I transmembrane protein with a molecular weight of 450 kDa. One of the characteristics of glandular epithelial tissue is the synthesis and secretion of MUC1. It plays an important role in epithelial renewal and differentiation, maintaining epithelial integrity and carcinogenesis and metastasis. Under normal conditions, it is mainly expressed in a variety of tissues and organs, epithelial cells near the lumen or glandular cavity, showing apical expression and polar distribution. It is also expressed in T cells, B cells and dendritic cells of hematopoietic system. It is mainly used to identify tumors of epithelial origin.
