Background
CD68 is a glycoprotein with a molecular weight of about 110 kDa, which is located in the cytoplasm. It is expressed in monocytes, macrophages, histiocytes, large lymphocytes and osteoclasts. CD68 is mainly used to label macrophages, histiocytes and their tumors. Clinically, it is used to diagnose fibrous histiocytoma, histiocytosis and other diseases with rich histiocytes.
