Background
Annexin A1, a member of Annexins family, is encoded by the ANXA1 gene and express in granulocytes, monocyte. Studies show that ANXA1 is consistently expressed in hairy cell leukemic disease, but not in other B-cell lymphomas. Thus, Annexin A1 has been a useful marker for identifying hairy cell leukemia from other B-cell lymphomas.
