Background
Smooth muscle actin is a part of actin family of proteins which is specific in smooth muscle. The antibody can label smooth muscle actin but no cross reaction with actin of skeletal muscle and myocardium. It is mainly used to label smooth muscle and myoepithelial cells and tumors of their origin.
