Background
Uroplakin III is an asymmetric unit of 47kDa glycoprotein, which is expressed in the epithelial cells of renal pelvis, ureter, bladder and urinary tract. It is a marker with high specificity and moderate sensitivity for tumors derived from urinary tract epithelial cells. It can be used for the study of tumors of urethral epithelial origin.
