Background

S100A1 protein is a member of S100 protein family and contains two EF hand calcium binding motifs. It is the most important regulatory protein for myocardial systolic and diastolic function. S100A1 is mainly expressed in cardiomyocytes, skeletal muscle cells, salivary gland epithelial cells and renal cells.
