GLUT-1 Mouse mAb IHC Kit

GLUT1, also known as human erythrocyte glucose transporter, is a member of GLUT family. It is a membrane related erythrocyte glucose transporter. Its main function is to transfer glucose into epithelial cells. It mediates the main glucose transport in mammalian blood-brain barrier, and glucose transport in vascular endothelial cells, adipose tissue and myocardium. At present, it is mainly used for the study of diabetic nephropathy and retinopathy. GLUT1 can be expressed in many normal tissues such as breast, stomach, lung and colon, but the expression is increased in malignant tissues. Colorectal cancer is strongly positive for GLUT1, indicating that the increase of GLUT1 expression is related to the degree of malignancy and invasiveness.
