Background
CK6 is a cytokeratin with a molecular weight of 56 kDa. It is a member of type II cytokeratin family. It is mainly expressed in stratified epithelium, such as oral mucosa and esophagus. Clinically, it is usually used in combination with CK5 to diagnose poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma.
