TIMP1 (AB1600) Mouse mAb (Ready to Use)
Product Specifications
Background
TIMP- 1 is a 28 kDa glycoprotein that functions as an inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), which are key enzymes responsible for degrading major structural proteins of the extracellular matrix (ECM) . Both MMPs and TIMPs play crucial roles in ECM degradation and are involved in tumor invasion and metastasis, serving as major regulatory proteins of malignant tumor progression. TIMP- 1 is upregulated in various cancers, including liver cancer, breast cancer, and colorectal cancer, and can serve as a potential biomarker for tumor progression and prognosis.
