Anti-Transcription Factor IIB (TFIIB) [Clone IIB8] - 100 μg
TFIIB (also known as GTF2B, TF2B, or general transcription factor IIB) is a ubiquitously expressed transcription factor that plays a pivotal role in the formation of the transcription pre-initiation complex. It facilitates the recruitment of RNA polymerase II by acting as a molecular bridge between TFIID, which is bound at the promoter, and the polymerase itself. In addition to its interactions with TFIID and TFIIA, TFIIB engages directly with the core promoter region through two distinct DNA-binding domains, supporting accurate positioning and stabilization of the transcription machinery. TFIIB is also thought to be a regulatory target for transcriptional activators that enhance pre-initiation complex assembly.
