Anti-Tet Repressor - 100 μg

The Tet repressor protein (TetR), initially discovered in Gram-negative bacteria where it plays a crucial role in tetracycline resistance, forms the foundation of the innovative Tet system. This system has emerged as the most widely used and effective method for achieving inducible, conditional gene expression in a vast array of eukaryotic cells. While TetR can, in certain organisms, directly regulate gene expression on its own, its application in more complex systems like mammals and many other eukaryotes typically involves fusing it with specific eukaryotic transcriptional activator or repressor domains. This modification enhances its efficiency and allows for precise, robust control over gene activity.
