Anti-Factor VIII [Clone F827.4] - 500ug
Factor VIII (FVIII), also known asophilic factor (AHF), is a vital protein for proper blood clotting. The F8 gene is responsible for producing Factor VIII in humans. Defects in this gene lead to hemophilia A, a genetic bleeding disorder that primarily affects males due to its X-linked recessive inheritance pattern. Factor VIII is primarily produced in the liver's sinusoidal cells and in endothelial cells located throughout the body. In its inactive state, Factor VIII circulates in the bloodstream bound to von Willebrand factor (VWF) . When a blood vessel is injured, Factor VIII detaches from VWF and becomes activated (FVIIIa) . This activated form then collaborates with Factor IX to initiate a cascade of chemical reactions, ultimately leading to the formation of a blood clot and stopping the bleeding.
