Part of the CASK/TBR1/TSPYL2 transcriptional complex which modulates gene expression in response to neuronal synaptic activity, probably by facilitating nucleosome assembly. May inhibit cell proliferation by inducing p53-dependent CDKN1A expression. {PubMed:11395479, PubMed:17317670}.

Immunoblotting: use at 1:500-1:1,000 dilution. In immunoblots, a band of approximately 77 kD is detected.

Specificity

This antibody recognizes human DENTT (Differentially Expressed Nucleolar TGF-b1 Target) protein, a gene product expressed in several normal tissues with the highest level of expression in brain. DENTT is involved in responses mediated by TGF-b1 and has distinct domains for direction to different subnuclear locations.
