SARS Spike (14-1195)
Source: Sf9, Baculovirus cells. Sterile Filtered colorless solution. SARS Coronavirus is an enveloped virus containing 3 outer structural proteins, namely the membrane (M), envelope (E), and spike (S) proteins. Spike (S) -glycoprotein of the virus interacts with a cellular receptor and mediates membrane fusion to allow viral entry into susceptible target cells. Accordingly, S-protein takes part in virus infection cycle and is the primary target of neutralizing antibodies. SARS Spike produced in Sf9 Baculovirus cells is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 1188 amino acids (14-1195 aa) and having a molecular mass of 131.9kDa.SARS Spike is fused to a 6 amino acid His tag at C-terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
