In addition, Adipsin is a serine protease which is secreted by adipocytes into the bloodstream. Ultimately, Adipsin has a high level of expression in fat, proposing a role for adipose tissue in immune system biology.Adipsin produced in Sf9 Baculovirus cells is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 241 amino acids (21-253a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 26.01kDa. (Molecular size on SDS-PAGE will appear at approximately 28-40kDa) . Adipsin is expressed with an 8 amino acid His tag at C-Terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
