Recombinant Human Syncoilin/SYNC
Source : E. coli; Syncoilin (SYNC) is a muscle-specific intermediate filament protein that belongs to the intermediate filament family. The specific in vivo functions of syncoilin has not yet been determined, but it has been shown to be up-regulated at the sarcolemma in individuals with various forms of neuromuscular disease. Syncoilin is predicted to facilitate lateral force transmission during skeletal muscle contraction, while it does not form homofilaments nor heterofilaments with other IF proteins.
