Leukemia Inhibitory Factor has several functions such as cholinergic neuron differentiation, control of stem cell pluripotency, bone & fat metabolism, mitogenesis of factor dependent cell lines & promotion of megakaryocyte production in vivo. Human and mouse LIF exhibit a 78% identity in its amino acid sequence.LIF Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain (a.a 23-202) containing 189 amino acids including a 9 a.a N-terminal His tag. The total molecular mass is 20.9kDa (calculated) .

Components

LIF filtered (0.4 μm) and lyophilized from 0.5mg/mL solution in 20 mM Tris buffer, 20 mM NaCl and 5% w/v trehalose, pH 7.5.It is recommended to add deionized water to prepare a working stock solution of approximately 0.5mg/mL and let the lyophilized pellet dissolve completely.

Storage Conditions

Store lyophilized protein at -20°C. Aliquot the product after reconstitution to avoid repeated freezing/thawing cycles. Reconstituted protein can be stored at 4°C for a limited period of time; it does not show any change after two weeks at 4°C.
