Recombinant Human Serine/arginine-Rich Splicing Factor 1

Source : Escherichia Coli. SRSF1 Human Recombinant produced in E.coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 268 amino acids (1-248) and having a molecular mass of 29.9 kDa.SRSF1 is fused to a 20 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. Serine/arginine-rich splicing factor 1 (SFRS1) belongs to the arginine/serine-rich splicing factor protein family, and functions in both constitutive and alternative pre-mRNA splicing. SFRS1 binds to pre-mRNA transcripts and components of the spliceosome, and can either initiate or inhibit splicing depending on the position of the pre-mRNA binding site. The ability of SFRS1 to activate splicing is controlled by phosphorylation and interactions with other splicing factor associated proteins.

Purification

Greater than 90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

Components

The SRSF1 solution (1mg/mL) contains 20mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH 8.0), 0.4M urea and 10% glycerol.

Storage Conditions

Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) .Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
