Source : Escherichia Coli. SCG5 Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 195 amino acids (27-212 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 22 kDa. SCG5 is fused to a 8 amino acid His tag at C-terminus and purified by standard chromatography techniques. SCG5 also called 7B2 protein is localized in neuroendocrine tissues. SCG5 functions as a chaperone protein for the proprotein convertase PC2 and is essential for the production of an active PC2 enzyme.
