Recombinant Human Retinaldehyde Binding Protein 1

Source : Escherichia Coli. RLBP1 Human Recombinant produced in E.coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 340 amino acids (1-317) and having a molecular mass of 38.9 kDa. RLBP1 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus. RLBP1 is a 36-kD water-soluble protein that transports 11-cis-retinal or 11-cis-retinaldehyde as physiologic ligands. RLBP1 is a functional element of the visual cycle. RLBP1 gene mutations cause retinitis punctata albescens, severe rod-cone dystrophy and Bothnia dystrophy (nonsyndromic autosomal recessive retinitis pigmentosa) .

The RLBP1 solution (1mg/mL) contains 20mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH 8.0), 0.4M Urea and 10% glycerol.

Storage Conditions

Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) .Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
