Recombinant Mouse Major Urinary Protein 1
Source : E.coli. MUP1 Mouse Recombinant produced in E. coli is a single polypeptide chain containing 185 amino acids (19-180) and having a molecular mass of 21.1kDa. MUP1 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. MUP1 is a subfamily of proteins appears highly in the urine and other secretions of various animals. MUP1 provides a minor range of identifying information regarding the donor animal, once detected by the vomeronasal organ of the receiving animal. MUP1 can as well act as protein pheromones themselves. MUP1has been shown to encourage aggression in male mice, and 1 specific Mup protein found in male mouse urine is sexually attractive to female mice.
