Recombinant Human Cytokeratin 16
Source : Escherichia Coli. KRT16 Human Recombinant produced in E.coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 496 amino acids (1-473) and having a molecular mass of 53.7 kDa.KRT16 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-Tag at N-terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. Cytokeratin 16, also known as KRT16, is a member of the keratin gene family. KRT16 which acts as a regulator of innate immunity in response to skin barrier breach is required for some inflammatory checkpoint for the skin barrier maintenance. KRT16 is coexpressed with keratin 14 in a few epithelial tissues as esophagus, tongue, and hair follicles.
