HDHD2 Recombinant Protein
Source : Escherichia Coli. HDHD2 produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 279 amino acids (1-259a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 30.6kDa.HDHD2 is fused to a 20 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. HDHD2 is a member of the HAD-like hydrolase superfamily which includes L-2-haloacid dehalogenase, epoxide hydrolases and phosphatases. There are two active sites in HDHD2 - an L-2-haloacid dehalogenase and a carboxylate group. The L-2-haloacid dehalogenase active site catalyzes the hydrolytic dehalogenation of D- and L-2-haloalkanoic acids, producing L- and D-2-hydroxyalkanoic acids.
