FDFT1 Recombinant Protein

Source : Escherichia Coli. FDFT1 Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 306 amino acids (1-283 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 35.4 kDa. FDFT1 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. Farnesyl-Diphosphate Farnesyltransferase 1, also known as FDFT1 is a membrane-associated enzyme sited at a branch point in the mevalonate pathway. FDFT1 belongs to the phytoene/squalene synthase family. FDFT1 is the 1st specific enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis, which catalyzes the dimerization of 2 molecules of farnesyl diphosphate in a two-step reaction to form squalene.

Greater than 85.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

Components

FDFT1 protein solution (0.25 mg/mL) containing 20mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH 8.0), 10% glycerol and 0.4M Urea.

Storage Conditions

Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) .Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
