Specificity: Anti-Usutu Virus (Clone USUV-0065) is specific for Usutu Virus non-structural protein 1 (NS1) . There is no cross-reactivity with other Flavivirus. Background: Usutu virus (USUV) is a member of the Flaviviridae family, closely related to the Japanese encephalitis virus and West Nile virus. Originally isolated in South Africa in 1959, USUV primarily circulates between birds and mosquitoes. The virus occasionally infects humans, causing mild flu-like symptoms. In recent years, USUV has expanded its geographical range within Europe, causing sporadic outbreaks and raising concerns about its potential impact on avian and human populations.
