Polyclonal Antibody to FABP7
Fatty acid binding protein 7 (FABP7) also known as brain lipid binding protein (BLBP) . These are a family of small, highly conserved, cytoplasmic proteins that bind long-chain fatty acids and other hydrophobic ligands. It is required for the establishment of the radial glial fiber system by the activation of Notch receptors in developing brain. FABP7 expression has been shown to be induced by Reelin, an extracellular matrix protein in neural progenitor cells via Notch-1 activation. Diseases associated with FABP7 include optic nerve glioma and subependymal giant cell astrocytoma. It is expressed in brain and other neural tissues and has two isoform having 14 and 18 kDa in sizes.
