Monoclonal Antibody to TIA-1 (Clone: ABM47E1)
TIA1 (T-cell intracellular antigen) are mRNA-binding proteins that can aggregate within granules under specific stress conditions. TIA-1 is a multi-domain ribonucleic acid (RNA) binding protein that recognizes poly-uridine tract RNA sequences to facilitate 5' splice site recognition by the U1 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (snRNP) . TIA1 mutation causes perturbed RNA splicing and cellular stress resulting in WDM (Welander distal myopathy) . TIA-1 regulates developmental and stress-responsive pathways through distinct activities at the levels of alternative pre-mRNA splicing and mRNA translation by recognising uridine-rich sequences of RNAs.
