Protein kinase C, gamma Adenovirus (Ad-PKC-gamma)
Members of the protein kinase C (PKC) family play a key regulatory role in a variety of cellular functions including cell growth, differentiation, gene expression, and hormone action. PKCs are protein serine/threonine kinases whose activities are dependent on calcium and phospholipids. PKCs can be subdivided into two major classes, including conventional (c) PKC isoforms and novel (n) isoforms. A more recently described member of this family has been designated either PKC √ǬÂμ for the human protein or PKD for isolates of mouse origin.
