The recombinant HA1 subunit of influenza A H5N1 HA (A/Japanese white-eye/Hong Kong/1038/2006 (H5N1) ) consists of 335 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 38 kDa. As a result of glycosylation, it migrates as an approximately 52.18 kDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
