LipoFluor-MRTM Mitochondria Tracing Reagent

LipoFluor-MRTM is a cell-permeant stain for mitochondria. This tracing reagent can be used on live cells, frozen and fixed tissue samples and is compatible with other dyes.

Each vial can be diluted 100X to 2000X depending upon the final working concentration of the dye in the experiment. Typical working concentrations for LipofluorTM LipofluorTM TR-602-Mito are 10μM-50μM.

The liquid stock solution vials can be stored up to 12 months from date of receipt at 2-8°C, properly sealed and protected from light. Working solutions should be used within 24 hours and not stored for later use.

Thin layer chromatography using alumina plates and a solvent system of ethanol and water (3:1) revealed the presence of fluorescent isomers. No amount of starting material was detected.

Fluorescent imaging of mitochondria. Cell penetration and localisation of LipoFluor-MRTM has been confirmed in prostate cells (PNT2 and 22RV1), cardiomyocytes (H9c2) and cancer cell lines (HeLa) . Mitochondrial localisation has been shown in live tissues, including live adipose tissue (sheep) and muscle tissue (sheep cardiac and skeletal) and frozen or PFA fixed muscle tissue (sheep skeletal) .
