CYP2C9 (Cytochrome P450 Family 2 Subfamily C Member 9) is a crucial cytochrome P450 enzyme, which plays a significant role in the metabolism, by oxidation, of both xenobiotic and endogenous compounds. CYP2C9 is primarily expressed in the liver, and the expression level is reported to be the second highest among CYP isoforms (PMID: 20150829) .
