Is expressed in cerebral cortex ventricular layer and cortical plate. Used to study amyotrophic lateral sclerosis type 4. Human ortholog (s) of this gene implicated in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis type 4 and spinocerebellar ataxia with axonal neuropathy 2. Orthologous to human SETX (senataxin) .
