Immunogen

A synthesized peptide derived from human Neurokinin 1 Receptor This is a receptor for the tachykinin neuropeptide substance P. It is probably associated with G proteins that activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. The rank order of affinity of this receptor to tachykinins is: substance P > substance K > neuromedin-K.

IP, IHC, WB

Field of Research

Neuropeptides, Neuroscience, Neurotransmitter

0.5mg/ml

Form

Liquid

Function

DNA and RNA-binding protein which regulates transcription and splicing. Involved in the regulation of CFTR splicing. It promotes CFTR exon 9 skipping by binding to the UG repeated motifs in the polymorphic region near the 3'-splice site of this exon. The resulting aberrant splicing is associated with pathological features typical of cystic fibrosis. May also be involved in microRNA biogenesis, apoptosis and cell division. Can repress HIV-1 transcription by binding to the HIV-1 long terminal repeat. Stabilizes the low molecular weight neurofilament (NFL) mRNA through a interaction with the 3' UTR. .

Storage Conditions

Store at -20°C for one year. For short term storage and frequent use, store at 4°C for up to one month. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Calculated Molecular Weight

44740 MW

Observed Molecular Weight

48 kDa

Gene Name Synonym

TAR DNA-binding protein 43

Subcellular Location

Nucleus . In patients with frontotemporal lobar degeneration and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, it is absent from the nucleus of affected neurons but it is the primary component of cytoplasmic ubiquitin-positive inclusion bodies.

Protein Name

Glycogen synthase kinase-3 beta (gsk3b)
