Acts upstream of or within collagen-activated tyrosine kinase receptor signaling pathway; peptidyl-tyrosine phosphorylation; and platelet aggregation. Located in cell surface and plasma membrane. Is expressed in bone marrow; femur; liver; and spleen. Human ortholog (s) of this gene implicated in blood platelet disease (multiple) ; coronary artery disease (multiple) ; and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Orthologous to human GP6 (glycoprotein VI platelet) .
