2'-5'-oligoadenylate synthetase 2 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the OAS2 gene. Enables 2'-5'-oligoadenylate synthetase activity and double-stranded RNA binding activity. Involved in defense response to virus; regulation of lactation; and type I interferon signaling pathway. Acts upstream of or within RNA catabolic process; interleukin-27-mediated signaling pathway; and response to bacterium. Predicted to be located in perinuclear region of cytoplasm. Predicted to be active in cytosol; membrane; and nucleoplasm. Is expressed in embryo. Orthologous to human OAS2 (2'-5'-oligoadenylate synthetase 2) .

E.coli-derived mouse OAS2 recombinant protein (Position: H35-K742) . Mouse OAS2 shares 62.4% and 77.5% amino acid (aa) sequence identity with human and rat ATF5, respectively.
