Anti-MGAT3 Antibody Picoband® Fluoro647 Conjugated
Product Specifications
Background
Beta-1,4-mannosyl-glycoprotein 4-beta-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the MGAT3 gene. There are believed to be over 100 different glycosyltransferases involved in the synthesis of protein-bound and lipid-bound oligosaccharides. The enzyme encoded by this gene transfers a GlcNAc residue to the beta-linked mannose of the trimannosyl core of N-linked oligosaccharides and produces a bisecting GlcNAc. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified.

Function
Protein kinase which phosphorylates ESR1 (in vitro) and protects it against proteasomal degradation. May also regulate ESR1 levels inly via a PKC-AKT-FOXO3 pathway where it decreases the activity of PKC and the phosphorylation of AKT, thereby increasing binding of transcriptional activator FOXO3 to the ESR1 promoter and increasing ESR1 transcription (PubMed:21602804) . Involved in endocytic trafficking of N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors (NMDAR) in neurons.
