Anti-Rab4/RAB4A Antibody Picoband® Fluoro647 Conjugated
Product Specifications
Background
This gene is a member of the largest group in the Ras superfamily of small GTPases, which regulate membrane trafficking. The encoded protein is associated with early endosomes and is involved in their sorting and recycling. The protein also plays a role in regulating the recycling of receptors from endosomes to the plasma membrane. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been observed for this gene.

Function
Mediates electroneutral potassium-chloride cotransport in mature neurons and is required for neuronal Cl- homeostasis. As major extruder of intracellular chloride, it establishes the low neuronal Cl- levels required for chloride influx after binding of GABA-A and glycine to their receptors, with subsequent hyperpolarization and neuronal inhibition. Involved in the regulation of dendritic spine formation and maturation.
