Anti-SH2D4A Antibody Picoband® Fluoro647 Conjugated

SH2 domain-containing protein 4A is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SH2D4A gene. Using exon trapping and exon linking at chromosome 8p22 cloned SH2D4A, which they called SH2A. The deduced 454-amino acid protein contains a single SH2 domain. RT-PCR and Northern blot analysis detected ubiquitous expression of 3 SH2A transcripts, as well as aberrant expression in some cancer cell lines. Dai et al. (2002) concluded that SH2A is a docking protein that may be involved in signal transduction.

Scaffolding protein that specifically recognizes and binds dimethylarginine-containing proteins. In nucleus, acts as a coactivator: recognizes and binds asymmetric dimethylation on the core histone tails associated with transcriptional activation (H3R17me2a and H4R3me2a) and recruits proteins at these arginine-methylated loci. In cytoplasm, may play a role in the assembly and/or disassembly of mRNA stress granules and in the regulation of translation of target mRNAs by binding Arg/Gly-rich motifs (GAR) in dimethylarginine-containing proteins.
