Anti-BRD3 Antibody Picoband® Fluoro488 Conjugated
Product Specifications
Background
Bromodomain-containing protein 3 (BRD3) also known as RING3-like protein (RING3L) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the BRD3 gene. This gene was identified based on its homology to the gene encoding the RING3 protein, a serine/threonine kinase. The gene localizes to 9q34, a region which contains several major histocompatibility complex (MHC) genes. The function of the encoded protein is not known.

No cross-reactivity with other proteins.
Immunogen
A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence in the middle region of human BRD3, identical to the related mouse sequences.

Polyclonal
Tissue Specificity
Ubiquitously expressed. Present at highest levels in the brain, at high levels in the placenta and testis, at intermediate levels in the intestine, ovary, skeletal muscle and thymus and at lower levels in heart, kidney, liver, lung, pancreas, prostate and spleen. In the kidney, it is widely expressed in tubules, but sparsely expressed in the glomerulus (PubMed:24676636) . Expression is significantly increased in renal biopsy specimens from idiopathic FSGS (PubMed:24676636) . Overexpressed in many tumor types including breast, colorectal, endometrial, hepatic, kidney, lung, ovarian and pancreatic tumors.
Applications
Flow Cytometry
Field of Research
Developmental Biology, Domain Families, Epigenetics and Nuclear Signaling, Hlh/Leucine Zipper, Mesenchymal Stem Cells, Organogenesis, Skeletal Development, Stem Cells, Transcription, Transcription Factors
Purification
Immunogen affinity purified.
Form

Function
Acts as a transcriptional activator that promotes transcription of muscle-specific target genes and plays a role in muscle differentiation. Together with MYOG and MYOD1, co-occupies muscle-specific gene promoter core region during myogenesis. Induces fibroblasts to differentiate into myoblasts. Probable sequence specific DNA-binding protein.
