Anti-HSD3B1 Antibody Picoband® (monoclonal, 3F3C/7F9C8)

HSD3B1 is a human gene that encodes for a 3beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase/delta (5) -delta (4) isomerase type I or hydroxy-delta-5-steroid dehydrogenase, 3 beta- and steroid delta-isomerase 1. It is mapped to 1p12. The protein encoded by this gene is an enzyme that catalyzes the oxidative conversion of delta-5-3-beta-hydroxysteroid precursors into delta-4-ketosteroids, which leads to the production of all classes of steroid hormones. The encoded protein also catalyzes the interconversion of 3-beta-hydroxy- and 3-keto-5-alpha-androstane steroids.

Multifunctional protein with various roles in different cellular compartments, May act in a redox sensitive manner.Associates with chromatin and binds DNA with a preference to non- canonical DNA structures such as single-stranded DNA. Can bent DNA and enhance DNA flexibility by looping thus providing a mechanism to promote activities on various gene promoters (By similarity) .Proposed to be involved in the innate immune response to nucleic acids by acting as a cytoplasmic promiscuous immunogenic DNA/RNA sensor (By similarity) .Negatively regulates B-cell and myeloid cell differentiation.In hematopoietic stem cells may regulate the balance between self-renewal and differentiation.
