Anti-IWS1 Antibody Picoband® Fluoro647 Conjugated
Product Specifications
Background
Protein IWS1 homolog also known as interacts with Spt6 (IWS1) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the IWS1 gene. Various steps in gene expression, such as mRNA processing, surveillance, export, and synthesis are coupled to transcription elongation) . The C-terminal domain (CTD) of the large subunit of RNA polymerase II plays an important role in the integration of these different steps. IWS1 interacts with Spt6, a CTD-binding transcription elongation factor and H3 chaperone. IWS1 also recruits another CTD-binding protein, HYPB/Setd2 histone methyltransferase, to the RNA polymerase II complex for elongation-coupled H3K36 trimethylation. Thus, IWS1 links Spt6 and HYPB/Setd2 in a large complex and regulates mRNA synthesis and histone methylation at the co-transcriptional level .

Function
Acyl-CoA synthetases (ACSL) activates long-chain fatty acids for both synthesis of cellular lipids, and degradation via beta-oxidation. ACSL3 mediates hepatic lipogenesis (By similarity) . Preferentially uses myristate, laurate, arachidonate and eicosapentaenoate as substrates (By similarity) . Has mainly an anabolic role in energy metabolism. Required for the incorporation of fatty acids into phosphatidylcholine, the major phospholipid located on the surface of VLDL (very low density lipoproteins) . .
