Anti-OB Cadherin/CDH11 Antibody Picoband® Fluoro647 Conjugated
Product Specifications
Background
Cadherin-11 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CDH11 gene. This gene encodes a type II classical cadherin from the cadherin superfamily, integral membrane proteins that mediate calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion. Mature cadherin proteins are composed of a large N-terminal extracellular domain, a single membrane-spanning domain, and a small, highly conserved C-terminal cytoplasmic domain. Type II (atypical) cadherins are defined based on their lack of a HAV cell adhesion recognition sequence specific to type I cadherins. Expression of this particular cadherin in osteoblastic cell lines, and its upregulation during differentiation, suggests a specific function in bone development and maintenance.

Function
Cytokine that binds to TNFRSF18/AITR/GITR. Regulates T- cell responses. Can function as costimulator and lower the threshold for T-cell activation and T-cell proliferation. Important for interactions between activated T-lymphocytes and endothelial cells. Mediates activation of NF-kappa-B. Triggers increased phosphorylation of STAT1 and up-regulates expression of VCAM1 and ICAM1 (PubMed:23892569) . Promotes leukocyte adhesion to endothelial cells (PubMed:23892569) . Regulates migration of monocytes from the splenic reservoir to sites of inflammation (By similarity) .
